so traditionally you go and either drops crumbs, seeds, or pebbles in a moving body of water....read Genesis 22 and Micah 7:19 and Psalm 103:12 and Isaiah 43:25 ...and I would add John 3:16 (quote from memory!)
symbolize true repentance and washing away of sins.
We don't live near a moving body of water so one can also shake there pockets inside out and let the lint in there blow away.
We planned to do this today but DH took DS out and bought him heely's and he was gone a better part of the day. So tomorrow we will probably do this...I know it's Shabbat but our "school day" was going to consist of this activity, reading about George Muller and watching A is for Adam - so a video on creation and it's Tishri so it's all good!
We just got home from RH Shabbat service...DS made a friend....I learned much tonight, maybe I'll post about it when I have time to type it all up. Not tonight. But we did make plans to go somewhere tomorrow night.
In the spring of 2005, at our old apartment building we noticed another apartment with a 3-wheeler on their deck like DS's...turned out they had a boy the same age (3) and DS and this boy became fast friends. Summer came and DS wanted to be like his friend who wore a built in floaty swimsuit and was not afraid to jump on in....this was good cuz the 2 prior summers DS would only play on the steps in the shallow end (course doesn't help that he fell in the deep end twice and slipped of the steps under the water before, guess that would traumatize any kid...)
at the end of the summer this boy moved to Nevada and we moved to where we are now...but while it was still summer I met this boys mom and grandma...the grandma had adopted a child and we spent a good time talking about that.
Fast forward to 8/24/07 ... Kids Shabbat....this boys grandma was there...turns out she attends Havdallah every other weekend up north of here...and that's where we are going tomorrow night. The wife of the host home says to me, "ya see how this was meant to be"
Shabbat Shalom!
