Goings On

I've recently started reading a book....I like that it says on the 9th of Av in 1492 that Spain told the Jews in its country to convert to catholism or be burned.....not what we here, even at the community college I attend, that they were forced to become christians....as if true Christians would do that....

Here's the book .... reading to learn more about the customs that would have been in place when Yeshua lived in Israel....HE is my saviour and LORD and to know HIM and know more about HIM is exilerating!!!

Another book I got for DS and I to use as a fun addition to our Home Education, since so many of the Biblical Feast fall during the weekdays that we school, I thought it would be cool and interesting to read more about these and if there are some fun things we can do to really bring the Bible to life.... I have only read the first 3 pages...but I'm gonna get there.

Something else that arrived today:

I know it's the new ones, the "sissified" ones but when one hasn't strenuously worked out since one was pregnant with DS - more than 6 years ago- then it would be best to start lighter and work up. I'm actually excited to get started since that fanny lifter always looked too much like step aerobics....and I've BTDT and no ryhtm over here....trust me it was comical....

I will probably do day one on 9/4 due to the fact that we leave for out of town tomorrow....going to visit our old Youth pastor and his wife and their 3 kiddos that I used to babysit.... they are Senior pastors at a church since 2004 about 5 hours from here.

Of course I also have college class on 9/4 - our first test of the semester- and Torah Study group that night....so the hi def sculpt shouldn't make me to "stinky"....and a quick rinse shower should do the trick...without causing me to have to wash my hair, let it dry and then straighten.

The other thing I did today (well besides like 4 loads of DH's laundry since I will be gone and getting him some food to eat while I am gone, Home Educating DS, getting Ice for my dad, doing lesson 6 of TorahClass, reading 2 chapters in Song of Solomon, which btw I always thought it was just him and her talking, but apparently at first she is lovesick for someone other than Solomon..., and I cleaned the bathroom top to bottom, the kitchen top to bottom, and wanted to vacuum but I guess that can wait. and cleaned out the critter box, bathed DS after taking him to donalds to play and letting him ride his bike for 1.5 hours....and showered myself, and trying to pack for tomorrow.)

My Kombucha has been brewing for 7 days as of today....I taste tested it and it tasted like the one I bought earlier this summer from the health food store, fiz and all.....so I brewed more tea and when it was cooled, took out my baby scobies (you can see the second one starting to come away from the top one in the first picture), poured a cup of the brew to reserve and then strained the rest into a pitcher to put in the fridge because I like my Kombucha cold, as that is the way the bottle I got at the health food store was. The second picture is the first glass I poured myself after it got cold....at that point it was no longer fizzy and sweet tasting...unlike my taste test earlier. So since I will be gone until 9/3 in the evening, I am hoping in the fridge it will continue to brew some more and go back to being fizzy and not so sweet tasting...but I didn't want to risk it going to sour before I could do something with it on 9/4 or 9/5. I have marked on the calendar 7, 8, 9, and 10 days out from this second batch for taste testing, to see if longer brewing will make it better...I also wonder if since it is in a pitcher and can actually release the fiz factor build up, that's why it lost the fizziness, if this is the case, I will just save a 2 litter bottle from my seltzer water and use that to store it in while I am drinking it daily.
But I do remember the one I bought prepared did continue to brew even while it was in the fridge, because over time it became more sour than when I first drank some of it.
