Thanks and Praise offering Breadbasket: James 4:8 - Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (my BIL's) James 4:10 - Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. (Mine) Matthew 5:10 - Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Pastor's MIL) Deuteronomy 28:12 - The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. (Mrs. Pastor) Psalm 16:11 - Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. (My sisters) Psalm 32:8 - I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (Pastor's) Opening: Read Psalm 119:137-152 and prayer. DVD topic in this section: True majesty and glory of God DVD notes: Were they ready for the 3rd day??? Exodus 19:16-19 and further Isaiah 40:21-26 he knew the earth was round when everyone else thought it was flat. God could measure the universe with one hand from thumb to pinky- WHOA! stars never burn out, they are just too far away to see. (after the DVD pastor said something about Einstein and putting a baby out in space for one year of travel at light speed but the person who sent them into space would have aged here on earth for 70 years...interesting....since 1,000 of our years equal 1 of God's days....) Colossians 1:17 - And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Talked about the human body, cells, molecules, atoms, atomic energy as man's way to define how it's all held together...nah, HE holds it together...WOW! Glory of God - says people don't understand when they passively say, "the glory was in that service." He said no it was not or you'd be blinded. The WORD says HIS Glory is light and in HIM there is no darkness. I John 1:5 - This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. I Timothy 6:15-16 - 15Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. That even the sun has dark spots. HE is brighter than the sun...even the sun at noon time in the Mid-East Acts 26:13 - At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. Moses was denied seeing HIS face. Exodus 33:18-19 - 18And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. 19And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. kabowd = glory or weight, splendor, abundance and honor brightness meter from lowest to highest: stars then sun then Jesus HE is brighter than the sun so it will be as darkness. Revelations 1:12-16 HE desires to reveal HIS glory to us and dwell with us in HIS glory. Said when Joshua saw HIM it wasn't in HIS full glory, neither did Jacob when he wrestled with HIM.... The speaker said could you imagine a father who always has to hide himself from his children...only able to speak to them from behind a curtain, not able to embrace them. Revelation 22:4 - And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 2 Corinthians 6:16b - as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. We need to be holy to see God. The speaker was upset that there are so many easy sermons and not enough sanctification and holiness being taught. Which he said he will go more into in the coming sessions..... Stay tuned. My question was: In the garden did Adam and Eve get to see HIM in HIS Full Glory? the conclusive answer was since it said the cool of the evening - hence it would be starting to get dark or already be- and they at that time were without sin, then yes, it is possible... Pastor's MIL mentioned her DH's thought - they say nuclear blast can melt flesh but he envisions the Glory of the Lord melting the flesh of the wicked. Have anything to add? I added a new book - 7 Biblical Truths You won't hear in church...have read the intro and first chapter and so far I like it, except the reference to r.c. sproul - have no idea why the "fascination" some people have with that whacko...I tried to read thru one of his toughest question/answer books...but just couldn't do it, figured the guy was a whack job. | |
