Well we all know what today is the remembrance of. Like all of you I'll never forget what I was doing that day. My son was 6 weeks old so I saw the second plane hit and then had to go to the DMV to renew my driver's license and while there learned that the people at work didn't even know anything was going on. After that errand was the prescribed 6 week checkup to make sure mom and baby were doing ok. It wasn't until we got home that we learned about the horrific details of that day.
My opinion is why don't we think our gov't would be capable of hiring people to commit such a horrendous crime so that we in turn would say, "yes please watch our every move" all in the name of so called protection .... just something I think about as events play out since that day. After all, I'm sure those in charge don't see us as humans but rather expendable objects.
Yesterday I learned that steering and braking an SUV that's in neutral while your spouse is towing you with his truck is Hard and scary. And I've rode a free fall (+/-) 300 ft before the cord caught.
Last night at Jewish Roots 101 as we studied several verses on circumcision I had an epiphany of sorts.
There's physical birth and spiritual re-birth
There's physical circumcision and spiritual circumcision of the heart.
(Yeshua is speaking to a pharisee who was a ruler of the Jews John 3:1)
John 3:4-7
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Yeshua answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of G-D.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
(keep in mind that the first 2-3 chapters of Romans were written to the Hebrews)
Romans 2:28-29
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
((and if you autothink the letter of the law kills but the spirit gives life as in II Corinthians 3:6, then know this -- 2 edged sword, cut to kill and cut to heal or death to violators and life to obeyers. Understanding comes with obedience. The Law is not a burden when you have Yeshua. You want to read HIS Word and find out what HE wants you to do and you want to please HIM. Also they say 613 commands in Torah yet there are 1050 commands in the NT so which is more "legalistic"?))
Maybe you already saw that ...
maybe you don't think it's such a thing to be "geeked" over ....
I sure do.
Also DS is getting excited over his Awanas memory work ...too cute.
next verse for him is I Corinthians 15:3 and I told him as I learned last night that when the author says Scripture, at that time what Scripture existed? Yeah ... what we call the Old Testament ((can't stand that term btw)) ... the NT didn't exist yet....and no I'm not saying the NT is less important, just want to point that out because I know many times in churchianity land the focus tends to be 90% on the NT.
Oh and I can't stand the "it was culturally for back then but not now" argument .... really ... well the whole Bible was wrote "so looonngg" agothat I guess with that viewpoint then none of it would be applicable today. DO we really want to say that????
this was not meant to offend anyone...just sharing what I've been learning. If you don't like it, then stop reading my weblog. If you like learning Truth that's not based on the furch founders, then stick around.

Again, another thought provoking post. On September 11th, that day, I was getting ready to go to work when my husband called and told me of the events. As I rode to work, I ride by an airport, I saw many, many planes flying over to land. At work, I work in an ER, security high, cops present, every TV on. It was the one time no one complained about the wait. Many thoughts have entered my mind since that day. What are we willing to sacrifice in the name of security? All of our freedoms? Government and their power scares me. Good comment on OT/NT. Really, they are both old why use the old/new words to describe them? The more I study the Torah, the more I want to learn and know. Why do so many churches focus only on the "NT"? "Feel good" sermons make me nauseated. My husband and I are rethinking our church affiliation. Okay, better stop now. This post was full of insight. Like I have said before, love your blog. I have trouble writing my thoughts down. So often, your blogs touch on things I have pondered, but could not bring forth fully. Oh, love your comment about, if you don't like my blog, stop reading it. Blessings.
