Just a quick note about how this educational year, without any predetermined planning, many things we've read line up with the exact dates on the current calendar that they took place back in the actual day.
Two examples:
We were reading the last chapter of Little Town on the Prairie and Laura received her teacher's certificate on 12.24.1882 and the day we read this happened to be 12.24.2013 (too kewl!)
2 days ago I decided to add this term's Plutarch reading of Brutus to this week's work. Due to circumstances beyond our control, yesterday, when we would have read the first half was pushed off until today. I had no idea what was in the chapter on Brutus but as we read the words Ides of March were there and I was like, that's tomorrow. Again, too kewl!
We are reading Story of the World book #3 along with the Year 5 readings at Amblesideonline and that too is uncanny how often those chapters will coincide with something that was many years ago planned to be read for Year 5.
Time to go prepare for the Purim themed Shabbat service tonight.
Chag Purim Sameach!
