Our first NT week in review

I was the only one who liked the Reuben sandwhiches...couldn't get enough and one day even wanted to eat those sour things with honey on them...the same day my sister told me she ate pickles on her pizza....

My zucchini bread -which is on page 483 of the NT book came out with no sweetness...I just couldn't stand the taste of it. Not to mention even 1.5 hours in the oven wasn't enough to cook it all the way through, neither was being in the oven an additional 4 hours on a lower heat setting while I made the homemade salami....the bottom was still soggy....there has got to be a better way to make healthy and homemade Z bread.

Homemade Salami - DH loved it...then refused to eat it all over a spat regarding today. I hold to the actual passover date as the day the Lord gave HIS life for us and then 72 hours later arose...NOT TODAY...TODAY IS A pagan day. http://www.xanga.com/anna and http://musings-of-a-mountain-mama.blogspot.com/ have more info for you. Don't beat yourself up today if you are just celebrating the resurrection because you were always taught that today is just the day we remember it. Start now knowing the Truth. (the truth shall set you free)

Sourdough bread - in the oven right now...I need to get more bread pans because as this was rising it spread out rather than up because it was not properly contained. While it was taking up counter space to rise DH got mad and said in not this nice way I will rephrase for you, " I don't know why you are making that stuff, no one wants to eat it."

Blueberry muffins page 482 NT - made those this morning...there ok but still not sweet enough and I doubt anyone else will eat them since they are whole wheat and not shock full of sugar like store bought muffins/muffin mix.

Avocado soup - BLECK....I like guacomole but not that...I think it was more the cilantro I didn't like, but my 6 month old kitten sure ate the pieces of cilantro that fell on the floor...LOL

Pancakes the NT way - I liked these and since I made about 7 (half what the book calls for) I froze them and warmed them up a few days for breakfast with grape juice before going to college. I liked them. Going to try buckwheat next time I go shopping because read it is a good source of DCI - good for pcos ladies.

Oatmeal - I made it again and I liked it with the butter, brown sugar and a drop of maple syrup.
I don't know how just 1 cup of oats feeds a family of 6+, maybe they double or even triple the recipe?

Turkey sausage - this was good, a bit too much though. Have to remember that next time I make it.

I've got to make chicken tenders and zucchini cakes still and bordertown chicken salad with guacomole dressing, to try casual chan's with ginger carrots, and a simple roast chicken....which may stretch until DH gets paid again...so one week's worth of recipes actually lasted me and my picky eaters about 2 weeks. There is just the 3 of us.

Be thankful for your large families and healthy reproductive systems.

I thank the Lord for my son and ask HIM to ease the ache in my heart for every day that passes with no sibling for him.
