When those who don't have Messiah enter your home should they see/feel that something is different? Or is it ok to have things just as the rest of the world would?
I'm not talking about appliances but various forms of entertainment for example. If the neighbors know I am a Believer yet come into my house and I have, say the simpson movie sitting on the front entry table, is that a good witness?
Will my neighbors think to themselves, gee she's a Believer yet she has the same stuff as we do and the rest of the world does in her home that she watches/does so I guess I'm doing ok then and don't need a Saviour?
How sad indeed it would be if what I had in my home was the cause of their not noticing that I had something they themselves need too in order to be forgiven and complete.
Or would they think, cool and right on because hey maybe being a Believer isn't so "thou shalt not" after all....I mean look at my neighbors they are Believers and they too watch the simpsons (or whatever)?
I was raised to think a bad witness would turn them off to the idea of becoming a Believer but some in my life are trying to persuade me that it would just make being a Believer appear more cool to the lost.
So which is it?
edited at 8:07pm to add that DH and DS are in the bedroom currently watching this movie. I have tried to persuade DH that if he has to get this movie to please hide it from DS but today he came home from work waving it around and tempting DS with it. I however am not allowed to say anything or DH calls me a judgmental hypocrite.
