I currently have a bissell powerforce bagless .... I've had it about 2.5 years and today I was using it and it started smoking? It really scared me. Electronics in general scare me the thought of things catching on fire...yikes.
so I'm not sure if it just needs to be taken to a repair shop or if it means I need to buy a new one.
We have 2 cats so a vacuum is a must need to use daily or every other day item.
any vacuums you find great and easy care? any vacuum? it doesn't have to be a bissell or one specifically for pet hair
I've been seeing the commercials for the pet hair eraser vacuums from bissell but I think they are double what we paid for the current vacuum .... is it worth the money?
and how do you all take care of your vacuums?
I know bagless means filter hassles but bags seem like a hassle also.

The Dyson Animal is excellent. They also do a handheld which is the only thing I know that picks up cat hair from sofas and chairs. Both pricey though.
I have a kirby and LOVE it!! It is pricey but I have never had ANY problems with it..I have had it for almost 4 years. Before that I went through several vacuum cleaners every few years. They also have a lifetime replacement policy on any parts that break!!
