One of My Favorites

I Kings 17-19 details some of Elijah's life.

here's a fave verse ... need I say more?

I Kings 18:27
And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

((I just love it ... perhaps your god is on vacation LOL ... talk louder, scream if ya have to LOL))

then this time through, as is always the case, something else stood out to me

I Kings 19:20
And he left the oxen, and ran after Eliyahu, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?

Was anyone else also thinking of the following passage?

Luke 9:59-62
And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, L-RD, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
Yeshua said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
And another also said, L-RD, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
And Yeshua said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of G-D.
