don't forget, if your child falls in the placement chart for the 3r's better in Beyond, then that would be best ... if there are any persons/events ((like Roanoke)) you want to mention, by all means do so...my son fell math wise in Bigger but reading/writing wise in Beyond and since it's easier to beef up math than frustrate him "language arts" wise, I got the Beyond planner.

This is really good info. Thank you so much!! THis is exactly the info I was looking for. For some reason I feel that Beyond will interest him more (the read alouds arent as long)but i was worried about dd 8.5. But, I think I am going to get Beyond and add other things for reading for dd. I have another question: do you feel that you and ds had a good overview by the time you were done? The reason i ask is because we wont be going on to BIGGER the following year...we will go on to ANCIENTs. I just want to give dc an american year before we start the 4 year cycle.
