Soccer Mom in Me

This week is Soccer Camp for DS. It's every night this week for 2 hours.

It's incredible the way a mom can stand several yard away on a hill top and see into the gully and pick out which child is hers and not just by his clothes. They all had on the same shirt but I just knew which boy was mine...The way he stands, runs, his hair waving behind him as he ran...I just knew that cutie was mine.

So I saw on the clock they still had 3 minutes in the game. I walked down to the bleachers. One of the assistant coaches (I'd say a teenager) asked me if I was looking for anyone? I said my DS's name and he told me that he (my son) is very cute. I said thank you. I feel it's a compliment on my part also.

On the way home DS was telling me all about his evening and that some adult asked him if I was his sister or his mom....and DH agrees I could pass as DS's sister...must be the heigth thing plus in my college classes no one believes I am as old as I tell them I am...until they hear I've been married for 7 years and have a 5 year old, then they believe it....for one they can tell by the way I talk and act that I am a Christ-Follower and when I say I have a 5 year old they figure that means I had him after getting married and there is no way I can be the 21 years of age or so they guess me to be unless I was a "teen mom"....I digress.

Earlier this afternoon we went to the library for a Marionette puppet show on Pinocchio. Afterwards the puppeteer came out and told us how long it takes to make his puppets and how they work and answered questions from the kids. He then thanked the kids for being a well behaved and quiet audience. Then he thanked the parents because he says children are a product of their parent's training so he said it was because of us that the children in the audience were so well behaved.

On the way home DS said he was going to go home and make puppets and put on his own puppet show. So he sat me down in his room and put on a puppet play for me. the joy of proper entertainment.
